Growing up in Nairobi Kenya, I was influenced by many languages, diversity of cultures and faiths and gained a deep love of athletics and adventure. Imagine young boys with no care in the world gathering materials to engineer a homemade soccer and play to their hearts content. Just to stop to the echo’s of the call to prayer from a minaret in the distance. Now imagine the joy in their faces as raindrops start reverberating the melodies from the minaret and beating against the dry earth only igniting their spirits to race towards the call. Aleppo is forged out of the love and curiosity of finding spiritual connections.
Aleppo (ﺣَﻠَﺐ) one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world is known for its rich intellectual history, art, poetry, music, food, and craftsmanship. Aleppo represents a connection to spirituality and its influence on the will to endure.
